Mini Series: The Black Teacher Pipeline

The Center for Black Educator Development is at the forefront of addressing the critical shortage of Black teachers in the U.S., where only about 7% of teachers are Black, despite Black students making up around 15% of student population. This stark disparity underscores the need for more Black educators, who play a crucial role in providing culturally relevant teaching and serving as role models for students of color. The Center's work in recruiting training, and supporting Black teachers is essential to closing this gap, ensuring that all students benefit from a diverse and representative teaching force. Come explore with us as we dive deeper and introduce our miniseries gathering more information about the Black teacher's pipeline and the broader issue of diversity and representation in education.
