From the American Council on Education:
The number of American Indian or Alaska Native students accessing and completing postsecondary credentials increased between 1995–96 and 2015–16. However, we still lack precise, national data on many educational outcomes for Native students. The data we can observe show troubling equity gaps in educational and labor-market outcomes for American Indian or Alaska Native students when compared with other groups. This infographic highlights data from Race and Ethnicity in Higher Education: A Status Report to provide an overview of the educational journeys of American Indian or Alaska Native students enrolled in postsecondary education.

Due to the size of this population, we still lack precise, national data on many educational outcomes for Native Hawaiian or other Pacific Islander students. The data we can observe show troubling equity gaps in educational and labor-market outcomes for Native Hawaiians or other Pacific Islanders when compared with other groups. This infographic highlights data from Race and Ethnicity in Higher Education: A Status Report to provide an overview of the educational journeys of Native Hawaiian or other Pacific Islander students enrolled in postsecondary education.

This chapter is part of a larger report by the American Council on Education (ACE) titled Race and Ethnicity in Higher Education: 2020 Supplement, which follows ACE’s 2019 release of Race and Ethnicity in Higher Education: A Status Report. These reports, along with their accompanying microsite, provide a data-informed foundation for those working to close persistent equity gaps by providing a comprehensive review of the educational pathways of today’s college students and the educators who serve them. Race and Ethnicity in Higher Education: 2020 Supplement and the microsite were made possible through the generous support of The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation.
